Rice seedling cultivation in greenhouse is an advanced and practical technology to achieve early seedling growth, and early seedling transplantation, defeating low temperature damage, and obtaining high yield. Rice variety selection
Select local varieties that are stable, good quality, high-yield and disease-resistant. Most important, the seed purity is not less than 98%; the germination rate is not less than 95%; the moisture content is not higher than 14.5%. Meanwhile, the seeds must be replaced once a year.
Seed dosage
40-60 kg of seeds per hectare.
Seed treatment
Dry the seeds for 2 to 3 days in the sunny day, and flip them 3-4 times a day to increase the germination rate of them.
What should you prepare?
Hotbed configuration
The soil on the hotbed is granular, no grass seeds, no bacteria and has good permeability. What’s more, it contains more organic matter, and the pH is 4.5-5.5.
Choice of greenhouse
You should choose a steel greenhouse for rice or a bamboo one made by yourself. The size of the greenhouse is based on the area of the field.
Selection of seedbeds
Choose a land with no pollution, flat terrain and sufficient light. In addition, the land must be fertile, and can reach water for convenient irrigation.
Seedling trays preparation and selection
22-25 seedlings trays are generally required for per acre of field. The isolation layer can be film with hole and non-woven fabric etc.
Sowing method
1. The thickness of the subsoil is 2 cm, and the thickness should be uniform with flat soil surface.
2.The amount of sowing. Each tray weights 120-150g, and there is no seed leakage and overlap.
4. Watering and soil disinfection. The moisture must ensure that the soil is saturated and the amount of disinfectant should not be too large, otherwise it will affect the growth of rice seedlings.
5. The soil cover should be uniform and the thickness should be 0.3-0.5 cm.
6. Weeding and covering film. After covering the soil, the bed surface should be covered with plastic film or thin non-woven fabric to achieve the moisture retention and heat preservation.
